This is a very rare Takua (lead) version with perfect craftsmanship and a well-defined nose. Speaking of Takua material, only 333 pieces were made at the time, which is even fewer than the pure silver version. After being released from the temple, almost all of them were collected by the temple committee, so they are rarely seen for sale in the market, whereas the pure silver versions can still be found. This particular serial number is 24 (double digit), which has high collection value. In terms of market price, Takua is considered more expensive and sought after than pure silver. We acquired this amulet from a committee member of Wat Nongkrub. He had collected nearly 20 of them in the early days, but due to his old age and financial needs, he decided to release them.
One of the well-known masters who made Chuchok amulets is Luang Phor Sakorn of Wat Nongkrub. These amulets were made during the Roon Saoha batch in a grand blessing ceremony on a fifth Saturday of May in the year 2553. According to the master, it was an extremely auspicious day, and the amulets made / blessed this day, is double the power. Among Luang Phor Sakorn's Chuchok amulets, this one is considered the most lifelike and beautiful.
Besides Phra Khun Pean, another important wicha passed down from Luang Phu Tim to Luang Phor Sakorn is the Chuchok . Chuchok, also known as the Wealthy Old Man, is believed to be a person with great merit, abundant wealth, and a beautiful wife. In the eyes of the Thai people, Chuchok is a symbol of wealth and wearing or venerating Chuchok amulets is believed to bring wealth, good relationships, good fortune, and assistance in debt collection. Therefore, Chuchok amulets have always been highly sought after. Some devotees asked Luang Phor Sakorn if it was suitable to make a sacred item in the likeness of this peculiar-looking old man. The master explained that even though Chuchok may not be physically attractive, it's important to remember that he came from a Brahmin background and played a role in the Buddha's spiritual journey. This is why the Chuchok method exists, to bring good relationships, wealth, and luck to those who venerate it.
